The Westview Wolverines will take on the Vista Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Westview will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
If Westview beats Vista with seven runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Wolverines came out on top against Valley Center by a score of 7-3 on Friday.

Charles Jaskowiak made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Tyler Bissessar looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Joseph Arango-Manley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jayden Hardy, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.
Westview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Center only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Vista hadn't done well against Ramona recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers skirted past the Bulldogs 11-9.
The team relied heavily on Aadyn Thomason, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Micah Gamino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Vista's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Westview, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
Westview's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Wolverines have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Vista, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Westview continue to outrun the ball?
Westview couldn't quite get it done against Vista in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 5-2. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
