Baseball Recap: Mary Star of the Sea Comes Up Short

Mary Star of the Sea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Saxons. The Stars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Saxons from their previous meeting back in February of 2020.

Ben Dileva made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Riley Vuoso also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mary Star of the Sea's record is now 1-3. As for North, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mary Star of the Sea will venture away from home to face off against Verbum Dei Jesuit at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Mary Star of the Sea is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season. As for North, they will head out to challenge Mary Star of the Sea at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
