Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside Vikings vs. Dunwoody Wildcats

The Lakeside Vikings will take on the Dunwoody Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

While Lakeside didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Shiloh on Thursday as Lakeside made off with a 16-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

Luke Barron looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Jayden Mosley was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rory Lichtman, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Dunwoody entered their tilt with Decatur on Thursday with 13 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 14. They blew past the Bulldogs 15-3.

Dunwoody's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeside, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
