The St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Arroyo 69-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Arroyo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexa Adutwum, who scored 14 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adutwum has scored all season. Sophia Lopez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
St. Joseph Notre Dame has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Arroyo, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13.
St. Joseph Notre Dame will face off against Encinal at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arroyo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hayward at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th.
