Baseball Recap: Serrano's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Serrano took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Oak Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Diamondbacks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Diamondbacks as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Jacob Bannon was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Logan Wanco was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Serrano was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Serrano picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-14. As for Oak Hills, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Serrano will head out to square off against Burroughs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Diamondbacks are facing the Burros at the right time seeing as the Burros are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Oak Hills, they are taking a road trip to take on Hesperia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
