Video: Ma'a Gaoteote highlights See the 2021 USC commit in action during his sophomore season.
Gaoteote played his first two years of high school at Faith Lutheran (Las Vegas) and was a MaxPreps All-American in back-to-back seasons on the freshman and sophomore teams. He announced in January his transfer to national power IMG Academy for his junior season. Expect him to make an immediate impact for a team that will be ranked in the Top 10 when we release our rankings on July 22.
His older brother,
Palaie Gaoteote, was a 5-star linebacker at
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) and played in the 2018 Polynesian Bowl. He helped the Gaels to the national championship during his junior year when the Vegas power went undefeated with notable wins over Cedar Hill (Texas), St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.), Kahuku (Hawaii), St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and capped it off with an 84-8 win over Liberty (Henderson, Nev.) in the 4A state championship.

Ma'a Gaoteote (11) transferred to IMG Academy in January and announced Tuesday he will play in the 2021 Polynesian Bowl.
