Meanwhile, Mielke struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Sheehan went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Mielke got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mielke is becoming a predictor of Caledonia-Mumford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-10 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Carter Wiley was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan McKay, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
