A well-balanced attack led the Corinth Riverhawks over the Doane Stuart Thunder Chicken in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Corinth put the hurt on the Thunder Chicken with a sharp 71-46 win. Corinth pushed the score to 53-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Thunder Chicken had little chance of recovering from.
Despite the loss, Doane Stuart still got an impressive performance from Julius Brown, who scored 21 points. That was a full 45.7% of Doane Stuart's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiere Franze, who scored ten points.
Corinth is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Doane Stuart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
Corinth will head out on the road to square off against the Railroaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Doane Stuart, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Mountain Lions at 5:00 p.m. Berlin/New Lebanon is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
