The Corry Beavers suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 67-24 loss at the hands of Erie. While losing is never fun, Corry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Erie is ranked 151st).
Erie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianah Reap, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reap has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Draya Neavins, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Corry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Erie, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Corry will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. As for Erie, they will be playing at home against General McLane at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
