The Lincoln East Spartans entered their tilt with the Gretna Dragons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lincoln East took down the Dragons 61-44 on Wednesday. Lincoln East pushed the score to 58-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dragons cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, Gretna saw an underclassman step up: Maggie Miller scored 16 points. Emma Martin was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lincoln East's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Gretna, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13.
Lincoln East will take on the Panthers at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Gretna, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Omaha Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Dragons in Nebraska (the Eagles are ranked 31st, while the Dragons are ranked 160th).
