In what's become a running theme this season, the DeLaSalle Islanders gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 81-45 win over Richfield. Winning may never get old, but DeLaSalle sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Despite the loss, Richfield still got an impressive performance from Aniiya Johnson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
DeLaSalle's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.9 points per game. As for Richfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
DeLaSalle will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Robbinsdale Cooper at 7:00 p.m. Robbinsdale Cooper will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 216th, while DeLaSalle is ranked 17th). As for Richfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Minneapolis Southwest at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Minneapolis Southwest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
