Softball Recap: Englewood Wins Going Away Against Alameda

Englewood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Alameda, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. Englewood was the clear victor by an 18-8 margin over Alameda on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Englewood, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Englewood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Coming up, Englewood will take on Mullen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alameda, they will challenge Golden at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
