The Naugatuck Greyhounds put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 42-6 win over Torrington. Fans of Naugatuck have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Jett Hall was his usual excellent self, rushing for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 11 passes. Hall hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Jones, who rushed for nine yards and a touchdown.
Naugatuck's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-0. As for Torrington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Naugatuck will play host again and welcome Crosby, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crosby will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Naugatuck is ranked 21st). As for Torrington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
