It was a good run, but Eden Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-20 loss at the hands of Union Area. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eden Christian Academy has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Eden Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hope Haring. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 60% of Eden Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Eden Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Eden Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Union Area, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eden Christian Academy will take on St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Joseph knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Eden Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Union Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Ellwood City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ellwood City is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
