The La Salle Lancers lost against the Bishop Montgomery Knights back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. La Salle was beaten by the Knights 65-38. While losing is never fun, La Salle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Knights are ranked fourth).
La Salle lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Avery Ward, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Higgins, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
La Salle's loss dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Bishop Montgomery, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.
La Salle will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Belles at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in St. Mary's Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. Bishop Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
