Football Recap: Heritage Piles Up the Points Against Southern Wells

Heritage never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Southern Wells on Friday. They breezed past the Raiders to the tune of 42-7. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Patriots had established a 29-point advantage.

Heritage got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Weber out in front who threw for 160 yards and three TDs while completing 90% of his passes. Weber didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles. Lantae Cassel was Weber's top target, picking up 74 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Heritage didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Southern Wells to a completion percentage of just 11.1%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Cassel and Jesus Vallejo Jr., who each logged one passes deflected. Heritage has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.65 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.65 in their last three games.

Heritage's defense didn't let Trey Slusher, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Jaxton Litchfield was the leader with two.

Heritage's record is now 5-3. As for Southern Wells, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
