The Waverly Ravens's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by The Webb Schools on the road and fell 63-4. Waverly was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-2.
The Webb Schools' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pristine Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Thomas hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Xajani Badkar was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten steals and nine assists.
Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for The Webb Schools, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Waverly will head out on the road to take on E at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. E comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. The Webb Schools won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Avalon at 11:00 a.m. on January 13th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Xemina Moreno and Badkar.
