Baseball Recap: Pace Academy Has No Trouble Against M.L. King

Pace Academy won the last time they faced M.L. King and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 16-6 victory. Considering the Knights have won ten games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pace Academy let Quinn Culpepper and Thomson Brumfield run wild. Culpepper scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances, while Brumfield got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. What's more, Culpepper posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caden Austin, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.

Pace Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Pace Academy and bumps their season record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for M.L. King, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-9.

Coming up, Pace Academy will head out to face off against Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for M.L. King, a feisty cat fight will be fought as M.L. King Lions take on Forest Park Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Forest Park has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.47 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
