Basketball Recap: Kirstin Feathers Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Southern Fulton

Everett lost to Southern Fulton back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Everett Warriors snuck past the Southern Fulton Indians with a 46-42 win. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Indians are ranked 474th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Everett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kirstin Feathers, who posted eight points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Feathers a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Levy, who earned 12 points and five steals.

Everett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Southern Fulton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Harvey, who had 19 points and seven boards. That was a full 45.2% of Southern Fulton's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sosefina Ah Loe, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Everett's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Southern Fulton, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Everett has already played their next contest, a 57-28 victory against Fannett Metal on the 23rd. As for Southern Fulton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-34 win against Berkeley Springs on the 24th.
