Beaumont is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will challenge the Redlands Terriers at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Beaumont took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against San Jacinto Valley Academy as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The matchup marked the Cougars' most dominant win of the season.
Robert Guerrero looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Beaumont let Alijah Jaramillo and Alex Diaz run wild. Jaramillo went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Diaz went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave Diaz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ronnie Collins, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.
Beaumont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Jacinto Valley Academy only managed six.
Meanwhile, Redlands had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 14-3 victory. While the Terriers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Jayden Rose was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Donovan Hayhurst was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Beaumont's record is now 8-4. As for Redlands, their record now sits at 9-3.
Beaumont's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Cougars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Redlands, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Beaumont continue to outrun the ball?
Beaumont came out on top in a nail-biter against Redlands in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Terriers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
