A Season-Best Effort from Josh Novak Leads Avalon over Milford
Avalon was led to victory by Josh Novak, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Novak wasn't messing around, rushing for 245 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 78 yards and two touchdowns. The contest was his ninth straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.
Unfortunately for Milford, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Novak. Novak rushed for 226 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 80 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in October of 2023.

While Jesse Lamb delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Walnut Springs. Lamb showed up in a big way, rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (101.9) per game.
Walnut Springs is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. Lamb and Walnut Springs will take on Avalon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
