After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Point Arena, the Calistoga Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 44-37 victory over Victory Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Calistoga also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Calistoga's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Hernandez, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. Italia Barrera was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Calistoga's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Victory Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calistoga won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valley Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th. Valley Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
