The North Canyon Rattlers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They lost to Paradise Valley at home by a decisive 50-34 margin. North Canyon has struggled against Paradise Valley recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
North Canyon's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Damien Atchue, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 50 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Alex Serrano was another key contributor, picking up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Paradise Valley was led to victory by Elantae Fleming and Charlie LeVinus. Fleming picked up 123 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while LeVinus threw for 271 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Simmons, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
North Canyon bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.6 points per game. As for Paradise Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
