Chanhassen took their contest against Kennedy on Friday by a conclusive 28-6 score. Followers of Chanhassen probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
The game started off well for Chanhassen, whose offense put up 21 first-half points. Kennedy countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 21-6 going into the half. The Chanhassen defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match. The win was the 4th in a row for Chanhassen, as they raised their record to 6-1. Kennedy are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-7.
Chanhassen will look to defend their home turf next week against Waconia at 7:00 PM. Chanhassen are catching Waconia at a good time: Waconia have scored fewer and fewer points over their past four games. As for Kennedy, they will face off against Richfield. Both of those teams have had a rocky road up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece.
