Oakmont is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Bear River Bruins at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Oakmont sitting on four straight victories and Bear River on five.
While Oakmont's win against Roseville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Oakmont sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Roseville on Friday.

Ayden Dringenberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
On the hitting side, Zayne Ball was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cooper Kunis, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Bear River put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Twelve Bridges. Bear River came out on top against Twelve Bridges by a score of 5-0.
Bear River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Barley, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Barley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Cooper Lunsford also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Oakmont pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Bear River, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Oakmont has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
