The Menlo-Atherton Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Hillsdale Fighting Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Menlo-Atherton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Hillsdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Hillsdale will be up against a hot Menlo-Atherton team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Bears walked away with a 7-2 victory over Burlingame on Friday.
Jack Molise tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Ryder Kelly was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Merrick Lee was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hillsdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past King's Academy 5-4.
Hillsdale also got a great performance from Robert Gilbert as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Gilbert also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Fighting Knights are 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jake Belloni, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Hillsdale is undefeated when Belloni posts two or more runs, but 6-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaden Minahan, who got three hits from his three at bats.
Menlo-Atherton pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Hillsdale, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Menlo-Atherton was able to grind out a solid win over Hillsdale when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 9-6. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Fighting Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
