Making Waves Academy hadn't done well against Marin Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Marlins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Wildcats. Winning may never get old, but the Marlins sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Emmanuel Alberto was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Gomez, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Making Waves Academy pushed their record up to 6-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marin Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Making Waves Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against Leadership Public Schools Richmond on the 11th. As for Marin Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lick-Wilmerding at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
