The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Emily Beaumont, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Belle Vernon was the victim of a rough 49-27 loss at the hands of Elizabeth Forward on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Belle Vernon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Elizabeth Forward is ranked 81st).
South Allegheny's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Belle Vernon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
South Allegheny might still be hurting after the 58-32 loss they got from Belle Vernon in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can South Allegheny avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
