Winters is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Colusa is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Winters Warriors will take on the Colusa RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Winters has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Winters has not done well against East Nicolaus recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Winters sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 victory over East Nicolaus. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Winters has posted yet this season.
Winters got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Dodic out in front who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dodic has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tucker, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Colusa beat Durham 55-51 on Friday.
Winters has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Colusa, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
Winters came up short against Colusa when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 43-37. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Colusa's Danica Chavez, who scored 26 points.
