This season hasn't been kind to the Tri-Valley Bulldogs, who are still winless after their 15th game. They were beaten by Tamaqua 55-23 on Saturday. Tri-Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-6.
Tri-Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Miller, who scored six points. Another player making a difference was Grace Header, who scored seven points.
Tamaqua's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Ligenza led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Plasha, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Tri-Valley bumped their record down to 0-15 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Tamaqua, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-Valley will square off against Williams Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tamaqua, they will head out on the road to challenge Lehighton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
