Saint Joseph found their leader in underclassman Olivia Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Martinez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Grace Hentges was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Mary Star of the Sea's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.2 points per game. As for Saint Joseph, their win bumped their record up to 10-5-1.
Mary Star of the Sea will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Los Angeles CES at 3:00 p.m. Saint Joseph will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Crossroads at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th.
