Jordan is 0-10 against the Lancers since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Jordan Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakewood Lancers at 5:30 p.m. Jordan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Lancers are ranked 85th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Jordan gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Woodrow Wilson 67-30 at home. The victory was just what Jordan needed coming off of a 54-32 loss in their prior matchup.
Lakewood has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 40-32 to California on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lakewood has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Cristina Jones, who almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. Jones is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Jordan has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 22-5.
Jordan couldn't quite finish off the Lancers when the teams last played back in January and fell 46-44. Will Jordan have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
