Scripps Ranch will take on Torrey Pines in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Scripps Ranch took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Vista 9-2.
Tyler Gloff made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Gloff was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Nathan Yu and Cooper Sitton did most of the damage at the plate: Yu got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Sitton went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Yu has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Dawson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Torrey Pines narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Point Loma 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Logan Cole was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Camden Nishnick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Torrey Pines has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Scripps Ranch, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
