The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will head out on the road to  challenge  the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The last three games Mt. Carmel has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 On Wednesday, Mt. Carmel sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over Canyon Crest Academy. That's two games straight that Mt. Carmel has won by  just one  run.
  Carson Weis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Bryce Miller was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 Mt. Carmel has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record  this season. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their loss was  their fourth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 5-17.
