Model took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Fannin County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils skirted past the Rebels 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since August 6th.

Model's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Fannin County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Model will venture away from home to square off against Haralson County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 3.2, the Rebels 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Fannin County, they will head out to challenge Gordon Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.22 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
