The Liberty Lions will challenge the Tracy Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Liberty gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Castro Valley by a score of 7-3. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Trojans on their field since March 4, 2015.

Josh Kelleher looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Sean Kelly was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Rane Miller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Tracy won against Livermore last Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Tracy walked away with a 7-3 victory over Mountain House. The match marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.
Dylan Giannini was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tracy is 2-1 when Giannini allowsthree or fewer hits, but 2-5 otherwise. Giannini was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Tracy got a great performance from Jacoby Freitas as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Freitas also tossed a walk, which is notable because Tracy is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Juan Godoy was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Malakai Jacobo, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
The victory made it two in a row for Tracy and bumps their season record up to 4-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Liberty skirted past Tracy 2-0 when the teams last played back in February of 2019. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Tracy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
