The Orestimba Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 57-32 defeat at the hands of Liberty Ranch. While losing is never fun, Orestimba can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 763rd, while Liberty Ranch is ranked 220th).
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashlynn Bell, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jenessa Gonzalez, who scored six points.
Leading Liberty Ranch to victory were Summer Mccoy and Haley Smith. Mccoy scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Smith scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Mccoy hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Madisyn Robbins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Orestimba's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-8. As for Liberty Ranch, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
