After flying high against Kearney  on Saturday, Millard North came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell just short of the Millard West Wildcats by a score of  6-5 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-2  on Saturday.
 Jules Severson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  pitched 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run any time she's  pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run.
 In other batting news,  Mallory Closman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs.  Macey Jarose was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run.
Millard North's defeat  ended  a  five-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 3-2. As for Millard West, their record is now 5-2.
 Looking ahead, Millard North will challenge Raymore-Peculiar at 12:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Millard West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westview  on Tuesday.
