Edward Chumley Delivers Best Performance of Season
Edward Chumley produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Anna to the win on Friday. Chumley wasn't messing around, rushing for 171 yards and five touchdowns. The contest was his fifth straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.
The victory (which was Anna's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. Chumley and Anna will square off against Denison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cameron Newton Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Sadly, Cameron Newton posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Walnut Grove over Anna on Friday. Newton rushed for 265 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now punched in two or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.
The defeat snapped Walnut Grove's winning streak at seven games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 6-1 record. Newton and Walnut Grove will challenge Lovejoy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Anna Gets a Boost from Williams in 55-41 Victory
Another Anna player making an appearance on this list is Ziondre Williams. He threw for 339 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 91 yards on only 12 carries.
Walnut Grove had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Williams it was a similar story. When Williams last faced the Wildcats back in September of 2023, he threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown.

Lovejoy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Adams' next match is against Walnut Grove on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.
