The Mars Fightin' Planets fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Sharon Tigers on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Fightin' Planets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Ceh, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Austin Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Mars' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sharon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Mars will be playing in front of their home fans against Plum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sharon, they will head out on the road to face off against Sharpsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
