First Coast entered their tilt with Englewood on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They enjoyed a cozy 54-35 victory over the Englewood Rams. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Rams are ranked 578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

First Coast got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Williams out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Nehemiah Echevarria was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why Englewood lost, don't look at Skylar Pierre. Despite the final result, he posted nine points and seven rebounds. Pierre has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Thomas Mitchell was another key player, putting up three points.

First Coast's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Englewood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

First Coast will take on Fletcher in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Englewood and Stanton will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Englewood is facing Stanton at the right time seeing as Stanton is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
