Tulare Union extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-17-1 in the process. They came up short against the Mission Oak Hawks, falling 14-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-1 loss back in April.

Jerry Little was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Tulare Union's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-16-1 when he doesn't). Ryan Matthews was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
As for Mission Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.
On Mission Oak's side, Deegan Sartuche made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Sartuche was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Ben Romans and Lucas Sunderland did most of the damage at the plate: Romans went 4-for-5 with four RBI and one run, while Sunderland went a perfect 5-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave Romans a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gage Hastin, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Tulare Union will welcome Dinuba at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mission Oak, they will square off against Hanford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bullpups will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
