Norristown is 0-10 against the Rams since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Norristown Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Spring-Ford Rams at 6:00 p.m. Norristown is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Norristown was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-35 to the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Spring-Ford's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Perkiomen Valley. Spring-Ford has not had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite their loss, Spring-Ford saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kareena Preuss, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Katie Tiffan, who scored ten points along with two steals and two blocks.
Norristown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Spring-Ford, their defeat ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-4.
Norristown was taken down by the Rams 73-20 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Spring-Ford's Anna Azzara, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Now that Norristown knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
