The Apollo Ridge Vikings's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Riverview Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th.
On Thursday, Apollo Ridge was beaten by St. Joseph 51-8. Apollo Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-3.
Meanwhile, Riverview was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past Springdale 61-15 at home. Given Riverview's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Springdale is ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riverview's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lola Abraham, who scored ten points along with six assists and four steals, and Katerina Tsambis, who scored 19 points. The contest was Abraham's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Bauer, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Apollo Ridge's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3. As for Riverview, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Apollo Ridge against Riverview in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 62-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Apollo Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
