It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Edmund Burke Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Windsor Academy Knights. Considering the Spartans have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Edmund Burke Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Windsor Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Coming up, Edmund Burke Academy will square off against Gatewood at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. Windsor Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
