Basketball Recap: Annsley Baker and Ava Wright Secure Win for Beaver

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blackhawk, Beaver was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Beaver County Christian with a sharp 64-38 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 26 points or more this season.

Leading Beaver to victory were Ava Wright and Annsley Baker. Wright went 9-for-19 to rack up 24 points and five steals, while Baker shot 41% from the field on her way to 18 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. The Bobcats are undefeated when Baker posts 15 or more points, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Cornman, who posted 11 points.

Beaver smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Beaver now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Beaver County Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Beaver didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-23 win against Ambridge on the 18th. As for Beaver County Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Neighborhood Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 5, 2026.
