Waxahachie was the 55-51 winner over Midlothian when they last played one another back in January of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Saturday. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Waxahachie lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Fyllip Johnson, who went 7-for-13 en route to 16 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 54% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaleb 'KJ' Jones, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Waxahachie's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Midlothian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Waxahachie will take on Cypress Park in a tournament on Thursday. As for Midlothian, they will venture away from home to take on Heritage at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
