The Jamestown Muskies will be playing at home against the Commodore Perry Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Jamestown and 33 for Commodore Perry.
Jamestown suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-24 loss at the hands of West Middlesex. While losing is never fun, Jamestown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 615th, while West Middlesex is ranked 229th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 44-1, which was the final score in Commodore Perry's tilt against Lakeview on Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Commodore Perry has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Commodore Perry struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Jamestown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Commodore Perry, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-14.
Jamestown strolled past Commodore Perry in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 51-35. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Commodore Perry's Skyleigh McCloskey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Jamestown still be able to contain him? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
