The Piedmont Hills Pirates will challenge the Hollister Haybalers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Piedmont Hills will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Piedmont Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Del Mar on Thursday. The Pirates have beaten the Dons the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dons has come to flipping the script.
Alex Tran was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. He has become a key player for Piedmont Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Paskert, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Travis Linane was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Piedmont Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hollister, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-9 win over Carmel on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Haybalers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Hollister got a big performance out of Evan Mendoza, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
The victory got Piedmont Hills back to even at 6-6. As for Hollister, they moved to 8-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
