Knox extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-14-2. They fell 12-9 to the Glenn Falcons. The Redskins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 7-5.
Myles Mclaughlin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Leonhardt, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.
As for Glenn, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
On Glenn's side, Tanner Tropp got the start for Glenn and what a start it was: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Tropp posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four games.
At the plate, Archer Rust was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kaden Lang, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Looking ahead, Knox will square off against South Bend Career Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trail Blazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.83 runs per game on average), something the Redskins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Glenn, they will face off against Mishawaka Marian at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
